Statement

Welcome and thank you for joining me on this journey.

My expressive practice is rooted in exploration, process, and connection - to people, place, culture, and the natural world. Over three decades, I have worked across painting, film, textile, and collaborative forms, following how each medium opens new ways of seeing. Working primarily with oil and acrylic on linen and canvas, I explore through colour, gesture, and symbolic form how we inhabit, alter, and belong to the living world.

My work moves fluidly between abstraction and deliberate reflection on ecology, society, and the human condition - bearing witness to beauty and tension, loss and renewal, and the quiet resilience of nature in a world in profound transformation. I see painting as a conversation with place, connecting the beauty of form and colour to the health of the systems that sustain us. My current work invites viewers to notice what often goes unspoken: the hidden consequences of our choices, and the fragile, enduring interconnectedness of all living things.

As a socially engaged artist, I believe art's power lies in meaningful connection and collective transformation. For over two decades I have served as artist-in-residence at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon, where I co-founded the Healing Arts Program. Working alongside patients, healthcare practitioners, and community has deepened my belief that the arts, culture, nature, and care are inseparable forces - and that creative practice holds real power to foster healing, dialogue, and shared wellbeing.
